Built between 1900 and 1902, the Townsville Customs House was the largest in Queensland, outside Brisbane. A red-brick and sandstone structure, it stands on The Strand, commanding views over Cleveland Bay. Parts of the interior provided sets for the recent movie "Beneath Hill 60", filmed in Townsville.
No longer owned by the Commonwealth, its future is uncertain.
